The HP HDX Notebook PC

HP Pavilion HDX
HP has a new notebook for multimedia enthusiasts: the HP Pavilion HDX Notebook PC. With a 20.1-inch (the company’s largest notebook viewing screen to date) Extreme High-Definition Ultra BrightView LCD display with 1080p resolution, the HDX is perfect for watching movies, editing video or gaming. And, with the its dual hinge, you can easily adjust or tilt the display for optimal viewing and comfort. The notebook features four Altec Lansing stereo speakers, integrated subwoofer and Media Center Remote, which stores in the keyboard deck until ready for use.

For added security (and for those of us who tend to forget passwords), simply swipe your finger across the optional integrated fingerprint reader to log on to your HDX, as well as log on to password-protected Web sites and files. If multiple people use one computer - no problem - each can use their fingerprint to log on to their own account.

The HP Pavilion HDX Notebook PC is now available and starts at a price of $2,999, depending on the configuration. http://www.hp.com/

Shortages of Parts for Notebooks

Asus U3S Laptop Presented

A new, special laptop was just presented by Asus. We are talking about the U3S, which comes equipped with integrated GPS and an external GPS antenna jack. This feature alone is bound to make people that travel a lot curios about the product. U2S also features a 13.3 inch widescreen LCD screen and an exterior made out of magnesium aluminum. Its’ processor is an Intel Centrino Duo and comes equipped with Windows Vista operating system. One thing that is worth to be mentioned is that U3S does not come equipped with the above mentioned GPS feature. It is actually an optional feature and we do not know if it is included in the European price tag of 2300 Euro. We do thing it is not so you should expect to pay a few hundred extra Euro to have it installed. If you do not like or want GPS, you can also have 3G connectivity on the laptop or what was named as being “turbo memory”. The latter feature is said to speed up the boot up of U3S and provide increased power efficiency.
The laptop is not that special and does not have many interesting features, although the GPS add-on alone could prove to be a real life saver in some situations.
